Beach Badges and Parking Fees are not included in our price unless otherwise noted. Lunch, snacks, and drinks are not included unless otherwise noted. Beach Badges typically cost $5 – 10 per person, while children 12 and under and adults 65 and older are usually free. Parking costs on average $1 per hour or $5 per day per car.
Our main surfing location is at Brick Beach 3. Brick Beach 3 has a full service snack bar with reasonable prices for drinks, snacks, and lunch. Beach badges cost $8 per person and parking is $5 per car, first come first serve.
Our surfing location at Brick Beach 3 features a secure dedicated parking area with beach and bayside lots. Parking is first come first serve and costs $5 per car. Our stand up paddleboarding location(s) offers secure dedicated parking areas and parking fees may vary.
As your safety and enjoyment are our number one priorities, we reserve the right to cancel, change the start time or shorten the water portion of your camp, clinic or lesson due to inclement weather, high winds, and/or dangerous water conditions. Any cancelled camp, clinic or lesson will be rescheduled when Mother Nature cooperates. We do NOT refund for cancellations due to inclement weather. However, we will provide credit for your cancelled service, which you may apply toward a future camp, clinic or lesson.
We reserve the right to ask any of our students to leave the water if they are endangering themselves and/or others due to poor swimming skills, lack of fitness, inability to follow our instruction. We do not tolerate the use of drugs or alcohol or inappropriate behavior. If you are asked to discontinue our camp, clinic or lesson due to the use of drugs or alcohol or inappropriate behavior, no refunds or credits will be provided.
There is a $25 cancellation/processing fee for ALL cancelled services. To ensure accuracy, refunds and cancellations must be submitted in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you provide 24 hours or more advance notice, you will receive your refund minus the $25 cancellation fee.
No refunds or credits will be provided for no shows or cancellations made within 24 hours of your scheduled services.
Specific cancellation policies for groups, clubs, and private and corporate group lessons will be outlined in your contract.
Our school and lead instructors have been evaluated, approved, and certified by the National Surf School and Instructor Association. Our lead instructors are Master Level Surf Instructors and they are present at all camps, clinics, and lessons. All of our instructors hold current American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications and have received extensive training before becoming junior and lead instructors. Our school is located at a safe sand bottomed beach protected by highly trained lifeguards. We work closely with the local lifeguards to ensure your safety. All equipment is safety checked prior to use and sized accordingly to height, weight, and skill level. Our 4:1 student to instructor ratio allows us to give individualized attention and offer manageable challenges. We believe in progressive skill building, which provides participants with the experience of success and confidence building through accomplishments, no matter how big or small.
All equipment for surf and/or stand up paddleboarding lessons, camps, and clinics are provided. We use high quality foam, round nosed surfboards. They are specifically made to be the safest, high-performance surfboards available to beginner and intermediate surfers and paddlers. We also provide rash guards and/or wetsuits if needed. You may bring your own equipment with advance notice. Our instructors will determine if your equipment is both safe and appropriate for you to use.
It’s important that you feel comfortable in the ocean. For a fulfilling and positive surf experience, we ask that you are a competent swimmer and in reasonably good physical condition.
Swimming is one of the most useful ways of getting into shape for surfing. Swimming works most of the main muscle groups needed for surfing and builds stamina. Cycling, running, walking, yoga, and workouts with an emphasis on strengthening your core will all benefit you, as well. You won’t regret any extra time you put in to ‘train’ for your surf experience, as your surfing rewards will be plentiful. However, don’t worry, if you do not have the ‘time’ to physically prepare for your surf experience. You will still have a fabulous time! And your participation just may be the jump-start that you have been looking for to incorporate fitness into your daily life.
About 80% of our students have never surfed before. Our camp program’s dynamic curriculum is tailored for both beginners and intermediate surfers. The only prerequisites are that you’re ready to have a great time and you can swim.
Most of our programs are designed for the beginner through intermediate surfer. Our surf instructors are well trained and equipped to take your surfing to the next level by offering coaching geared for the intermediate to advanced surfer. Or you may choose a private lesson, which assesses and evaluates your current skill set and provides customized coaching to clean up and advance your surfing skills, fitness level, and provide you with training tips to work on your own.
It’s important to know anything can happen while out on the water and by learning and observing proper standards of conduct and paddling safely and intelligently, you will significantly reduce the opportunity for conflicts and hazards. Learning proper paddling and self-rescue techniques, reading and understanding the waterways, and being proficient in safety skills are extremely important to ensure your safety and enjoyment while stand up paddleboarding. Creating a proper foundation of paddling skills and water knowledge will set the stage for many wonderful paddle experiences and if you choose, a stepping stone towards sup racing and/or surfing.
